Smile Cookie Campaign / Toy Drive 2019
Posted By Kinsmen Club of the Miramichi on September 29, 2019
The Kinsmen Club of the Miramichi just reached a new high in one of their biggest projects. For the first time, over $30,000 was raised in just over a week to help support local kids during the holidays through the Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign. A fundraising campaign which gives 100% of the proceeds from the sales of the cookies to a local charity. The Kinsmen are the chosen partners of local Tim Horton’s Owner/Operator Wade Humphreys, a partnership that began almost ten years ago.
Last year, just over $21,000 was raised and went toward helping children in the Miramichi area. The last five years has seen approximately $20,000 raised each year, and over 1000 kids have been supported in that time. Funds go towards schools from Doaktown, all the way to Tabusintac, and help less fortunate children receive toys at Christmas.
This year, the smile cookies raised $30,553 which will help over 300 local children. Many hands will be on deck to add holiday magic to families in need this Christmas. This is one of the largest service projects for the Kinsmen and it has grown substantially since it began. With the strong support of the community we continue to “Serve the Community’s Greatest Need”.
