Closing Party – New Executive 2019-20
Friday, June 21, The Kinsmen Club of Miramichi finished another successful year of volunteer contributions with our closing party and awards ceremony. The Beaverbrook Kin Center hosted over 40 members, K-40 members and their spouses for a delicious meal and time of reflection. This past year alone, the Kinsmen Club of Miramichi provided over 1500 volunteer hours and raised over $95,000 for the Miramichi!
During the awards ceremony this year the club recognized some truly amazing men who have served their community faithfully, with the Years of Service Awards. Tim Saunders and Steve Myles were each recognized for their 20+ years of service. Tom King, Life Members Gary Roy, Melvin Waye and Gary Carscadden were recognized for their 30+ years of service. And Life Member Gordie Butler, reached a milestone that few have, as Gord was presented with an award for his 40+ years of service to Kin and to the people of the Miramichi!
Michael Loggie received the prestigious Ken MacDonald Memorial Kinsmen of the Year Award, which is awarded to Kinsmen who best exemplify the aims of the association as a whole.
Gord Butler received the Kinitiative Award, which is awarded to Kinsmen who have been members of the club for at least five years and display a resurgence of commitment to the club.
Brendan Manderson received the Kin Louis Gallant Memorial Award which is awarded to the Kinsmen, who like Kin Louis Gallant, best exemplifies the qualities of unselfish service to the community.
Congratulations to all the members who received awards. We would also like to thank all of those in attendance and everyone who has supported the Kinsmen Club of Miramichi.
