The "HELP US TO HELP EACH
OTHER " program has been in existence on the Miramichi since the summer of 1981.The Kinsmen have sponsored this program
for the last sixteen summers while the Canada Employment Centre for students previously sponsored the program.
The goal of the HUTHEO program
is to get students to do odd jobs such as yard work, painting, cleaning basements, washing windows or other work that needs
to be done for seniors and disabled people free of charge. The students are then paid from funds they have raised through
find raising projects and funds, which have been solicited from the business community.
The Kinsmen hire a college
student to coordinate the program for an eight to ten week period and their salary is paid through a government-funded grant.
