Miramichi Kinsmen and Tim Horton's Partner

 

The Kinsmen Club of the Miramichi and local Tim Horton's Stores partnered to purchase toys for needy children at Christmas.  The Tim Horton's stores sold 'Smile Cookies' to their patrons with all proceeds going to the cause, while the Kinsmen did the shopping!  The sale raised almost $11,000.00!!!

 

Just before Christmas the Kinsmen went to Zellers and Canadian Tire and received discount prices on all toys purchased from both locations.  The shopping spree took 4 hours and filled 3 half-ton trucks!!!

 

The members then went to a local school to sort the toys.  School District #16 supplied a list of needy children from every school in the area and a list of toys for the kids.  Through their teachers the toys were distributed to the families.  The Kinsmen endeavoured to get every toy on the list and then made sure that every family received educational toys on top of their list!
